Annual General Meeting
Helen Mellor, Community Waste Management Officer at County Hall will be giving her presentation on waste management with special reference to recycling. The Chairman, Correspondence Secretary and Treasurer are considering stepping down. For the group to continue we must have nominations and elect new names into these positions. Please contact our Correspondence Secretary with/for details. What's also on the agenda?
If the group is to survive it needs to find a new direction. Should we be looking at conservation in general rather than just Killinghall Moor and inform and encourage members on how to live more environmentally friendly lives. As a group we are in touch with the Harrogate Borough Council and Action 4 the Environment and can pass on latest information about the latest initiatives on issues such as recycling, energy and transport. As we do not have gorges and woodlands to look after should we become involved in practical ways making it easier for people to be environmentally friendly on this side of Harrogate. Of course we can still get out and get our hands dirty in keeping our own patch clean and tidy which includes the lovely green walkways and Cow Dyke Beck. If you have ideas of what the group should be doing please come to the meeting on the 28th November. If no one is prepared to get involved it will not be possible to continue. We will then have to wind up the group as set out in the constitution.
